Our coaching curriculum is designed to create an enriching and efficient class experience, in which the actors who consistently commit to our sequential system gain ownership of their craft in a very short time window. Understanding that time is an important element for actors (the clock is ticking), we have developed a system that propels the actor to excellence with special focus on efficiency.
By implementing well-defined acting paradigms, sequential and system-based training models, training templates, guided practice, deep script analysis, storytelling, composition, active exploration of the acting instrument, and the coordination of all essential elements, our Master Class curriculum yields a learning environment that both enriches the actor’s craft and prepares the actor for their successful professional career.
The Innate Acting Master Class is designed to evolve within our students an ownership of their unique instrument and craft. It is for students who want to learn the entirety of our Innate Acting Matrix and how we use it to build irreplaceable characters and tell compelling stories via congruent humanity. In short, Master Class is for those actors who want to become masters.
In our opinion and experience, typical acting training can create a stagnancy and or slow learning trajectory. Putting up a scene and having it critiqued, is in our opinion, and ineffective way to master the craft of acting. You wouldn’t teach any other sport, martial art or performing art that way. Often actors in this type of class progress slowly and gain little ownership of their craft.
Additionally and in our opinion, improv environments, while beneficial in certain ways, do not yield the holistic skill-set needed for an enduring career in the industry.
Workshops and audition classes certainly can polish the work and provide specific types of training. However, in our experience, rarely does the actor’s overall craft evolve in any profound way. Differing approaches, multiple coaches and short-term seminars can, and often do, confuse the actor’s instrument and craft.
Over the last twenty years, we have strived to develop a more effective learning environment for our actors. The curriculum that we supply is a diverse and dynamic systematic approach to acting that is guided and sequential. Not unlike a team in a winning basketball program that is readying itself for the season, or a top law university that is preparing its aspiring lawyers for their legal career, our institute employs a step by step system that, when well traversed, allows each actor to understand and utilize:
The depth and breadth of their instrument via perfected practice methodologies
How to well prepare the written material/content
How to deliver their work successfully to the audience
You will be part of an optimized lecture that will provide the paradigms and methodologies through which you will understand the craft at a deeper level. You also will be utilizing certain exercises that are specifically designed to:
Calibrate your craft
Create awareness and acuity within your acting instrument
You will be guided in the preparation of your work, and the implementation of the scripted content, in unique ways that will facilitate the delivery of enriched humanity to the audience.
You may also be on your feet with finished product work that will be evaluated for the depth of its humanity, clarity, and storytelling.
In a given class, you may watch and evaluate scenes that are specifically chosen to demonstrate what it is we are trying to deliver to the audience; executed by the best actors on the planet.
All class materials (scenes, scripts, character breakdowns, preparation tools & templates) are created by our founder and head coach (a professional-level writer). The material we provide is written and designed specifically to compel the curriculum we are teaching at a given time while activating the actor's instrument in many challenging ways. By creating and providing our own proprietary content, we are able to effectively inspire our actor’s work on a steep trajectory.
Our class curriculum is designed to help our actors understand the craft on a very deep level, take ownership of their instrument, and learn to evaluate content in a way that makes them master storytellers.
We typically commence the year with an audition seminar: our “Innate Audition Solution.” This seminar is designed to both sharpen our actors’ auditioning skills and also to get them “ready to book” during the busy winter and spring acting season.
Upon completion of the audition seminar (typically 4-5 weeks), we enter into the first semester of training: “Advanced Storytelling.” This curriculum focuses on content and story with the specific goal of training our actors how to use their instruments and their craft to tell a compelling story.
In the early summer, we will provide a short skills-seminar (typically 3-4 weeks). With careful evaluation, our coaching team determines what aspect of the winter/spring curriculum would likely benefit from extra coaching and focus. The seminar is then designed to focus on a particular skill that will accentuate the actor’s storytelling.

We typically commence the second half of the year with another audition seminar: our “Innate Audition Solution.” This seminar is designed to revisit our auditioning workflow, sharpen our actors’ auditioning skills, and get our actors “ready to book” during the busy fall acting season.
Upon completion of the audition seminar (typically 4-5 weeks), we enter into the second semester of training: “Advanced Being Building and Becoming.” This curriculum focuses on character and craft with the specific goal of training our actors how to use their instrument to create a collection of compelling characters and archetypes.
In the late fall, we will provide another short skills-seminar (typically 3-4 weeks). With careful evaluation, our coaching team determines what aspect of the fall curriculum would likely benefit from extra coaching and focus. The seminar is then designed to focuses on the particular skill that will accentuate the actor’s “Advanced Being Building.”

Each and every Master Class at the Innate Acting Institute is unique in the way that it is structured and experienced by the actor. However, there is a sequential and well thought out plan to our classes and curriculum that, when traversed by the actor, yields a dynamic learning environment.
